Introduction

xxxxxHe is the dog that will piss in your slippers. He is the cat that will claim your seat when you go to the bathroom. He is the fly that constantly zips by right in front of your eyes and buzzes right by your ear, constantly switching the side from which it approaches to keep you on your toes. He is the car that doesn't signal when changing lanes. He is Malcolm White.

History

xxxxxLittle is known about Malcolm White, considering conversations with him are rarely profound. On the off chance they are, his past is a topic that almost never comes up. Should anyone ever bother to dig through his earlier years, they will find out that passers-by and barkeeps only really started yelling the name "Malcolm White" in rage less than a decade ago. His past before then remains shrouded in mystery, albeit perhaps a better word for that would be obscurity or insignificance. Indeed, there is very little noteworthy about Malcolm White, if one doesn't count his demeanour. It's not unlikely his antics will sear into your mind just long enough for you to add him to your 'To-Destroy' list.

xxxxxDuring the years that he has been known to the general public, he's been an overall menace. From pure mindless vandalism to annoying bar patrons, there's nary a misstep in law that Malcolm hasn't tried at least once. He was even caught a few times, though doing nothing so significant as to warrant jail time. At least, he wasn't caught doing anything like that. Worst of all, many wrongdoings Malcolm is responsible to are hardly worthy of arrest, either. His nomadic tendencies translate to his activities, as well - he is a regular at a pub only as long as the patrons and the owners are willing to tolerate him.

Powers

xxxxxLong story short, Malcolm White is an illusionist. The trickster's powers are highly complicated, but they basically boil down to the ability to manipulate how others perceive the world. Visuals, sounds and sensory input are all accounted for when Mal decides to cast an illusion. Telepaths and otherwise mentally inclined mutants will find it surprisingly easy to tell his illusions apart from reality, likely because the application of his power is similar and therefore detectable by the similarly powered. Physically disrupting the caster will also weaken or altogether disperse his illusions.

xxxxxAlthough it can be focussed to target single individuals, normally the manifestation of this power is transmitted as an area of effect, affecting all those present within the consciously specified range (which does have a reasonable limit). It is also unlikely psychic defences will prepare one for his illusions, simply because they affect brain function directly. One can follow the example of the undying trope that if you convince yourself you're dreaming, you'll be aware that it is a dream; the same applies to Malcolm's illusions. The less subtle they are, the more obvious they become. Then again, trying not to let the illusion get under your skin is another story.

xxxxxThe trope that mutants are immune to their own powers does not hold true with Malcolm. He sees and feels his illusions like any other. Of course, the caveat is that at least Mal can adjust the illusions accordingly to minimise or prevent harm to himself, whereas others don't have that luxury. Targeting a single individual is also more taxing than spreading the love as an area of effect, meaning he can keep it up for a shorter amount of time and weakens himself physically and mentally - physical coordination takes a dive and mental processes struggle to handle anything substantial. Think of it as those multitasking brain teasers.

Troublemaking - Do you need someone to stir up trouble? Pray to God he doesn't show up and he will. -2 to Luck if you happen to be at a place that servers alcohol.
Sophistication - On days with a particularly bad hangover, he'll take it slow and visit the more sophisticated locations, such as a library or a museum.
Heroes - Oh, did you think I meant Malcolm? No, Mal likes watching displays of heroism purely so that he could make fun of them or even mess with them. Think of this as his own perverted version of intentionally watching bad films.
