Joseph '''Matchmaker''' Jefferson - A quiet, middle aged man who lives on the fourth floor of the Village Lofts. He's a lawyer. He mostly keeps to himself and doesn't make much of an attempt to socialize with his neighbors, which is probably fair because he seems to be on the phone a lot: he has all sorts of friends and network contacts who keep finding the need to get in touch with him. If he doesn't return their calls, he'll inevitably end up running into them at the supermarket or something. That's just how his life works. Joseph doesn't know it, but he's a mutant: his power is to facilitate networking, manipulating probability to bring himself and the people around him into contact with those who'll be most important to them. It hasn't helped him professionally, because his coworkers keep meeting ''just'' the people they need to help jumpstart their careers and clog up the promotion ladder above him -- but it ''has'' set a whole gaggle of mutants and mutant sympathizers bouncing off of each other like a citywide billiards game (centered around those hippies who live down the hall)and that's probably good for something.

While PCs clearly make up the bulk of on-cam interactions, the world these characters live in is heavily populated by NPCs as well! IC, NPCs are just as important to chars' lives as PCs are, and there are many places around the IC world that have frequently recurring NPCs your chars might run into or know!

Feel free to populate this list with recurring NPCs; make note of their general appearance and personality and any relevant details that people should know if they want to make use of them! If they are a char that would be known but is restricted-use (i.e., a character's family member!), place an asterisk by their name so people know not to play them in a scene.

If the NPC is one that is likely to appear in many logs, feel free to make them a profile page! This is a barebones sort of character page for the NPCs, so that their individual logs can be kept in one place. To generate a profile template for an NPC, simply enter the NPC's name in the box below. Note to keep the "NPC-" prefix before the character name for all NPC pages!

To create a profile for an NPC, simply enter the NPC's name into the box below and hit submit. This will prefabricate a template for you to fill in or edit as you like. Then, simply add the NPC the list below.

Manhattan

Skeet - Skinny homeless kid who frequents the East Village and Lower East Side primarily. Too thin, often twitchy, usually found in many layers of clothing and a large raincoat regardless of weather. Frequents drop-in centers and soup kitchens. Does too much meth. Once shot Jim. Oops.

Natalie Galen - Barista at Evolve Coffeeshop. Early 20's. Not a punk. Her purple hair is natural. If asked, she'll say her mutation is making the best coffee anyone's ever had and many of her customers have reason to believe it! Actually, her mutation, aside from the purple hair, is an altered biological clock that keeps her awake for five days and asleep for one. She doesn't find either of these things particularly useful.

Ryan Black - Resident of the Village Lofts, apartment 304. An up and coming musician, of some small measure of fame along the Boston-NYC-DC East Coast corridor. Early 20's, dark hair, green eyes, easy smile, brings home groupies a lot. Plays keyboard decently, guitar excellently and violin better still, incorporates a lot of classical into his rock. Lives with three roommates, one of whom is covered in hedgehog quills and one of whom looks more like a bird than a human, but displays no notable mutancy himself. (This NPC is adoptable! Talk to Jackson or Hive for details.)

Hua Yong* - Middle-aged owner of the Jing Hua Yuan bookshop in Chinatown. Hua and his family immigrated to the US from the People's Republic of China twenty years ago. He rarely works the register at his shop anymore, and the observant may have seen him in the company of notable Triad boss Chen Ling-Yin. He is a mutant with decent command over his telepathic powers, although this is not well-known outside of organized crime circles. He is the father of Tag, although the two have not spoken in many years. He is aware now that his estranged child is back in town, and actively seeks him out.

Lily Francis* - A cheerful blonde teenager who can be found stocking shelves or bagging groceries at Shop Rite. Prefers correspondences to conversations, and has a habit of leaving little notes and drawings for people. She has a Secret Identity as the Flower Knight, an up-and-coming guerrilla street artist with obvious mutant sympathies, and is a closeted mutant herself with a sort of slasher-movie offscreen teleportation power. Oh, and she's Tatters' twin sister.

Joseph Matchmaker Jefferson - A quiet, middle aged man who lives on the fourth floor of the Village Lofts. It hasn't helped him professionally, because his coworkers keep meeting just the people they need to help jumpstart their careers and clog up the promotion ladder above him -- but it has set a whole gaggle of mutants and mutant sympathizers bouncing off of each other like a citywide billiards game (centered around those hippies who live down the hall)and that's probably good for something.

Matt Tessier* - Very cheerful, very gregarious. Very noticeably sick-skinny. Generally found in company with Lucien, on days chemo isn't taxing him too much to leave the house. The eldest of the five Tessier kids, although he is usually taken for Luci's younger brother. Plays a pretty vicious game of chess. Scrabble, too, even if he tries to sneak words in that aren't in the dictionary.

Xavier's School

Students

  • Daiki Komatsu - Born December, 1996. Tall slim Japanese boy, usually keeps his shoulder-length hair tied back in a ponytail. Mutation: Charisma. People like him. Sometimes quite intensely. Kinda sucks for him because he is a major introvert. Quiet and keeps a lot to himself. When people will let him, at least. (This NPC is adoptable! Talk to Shane or Sebastian for details.)
  • Inès Riera - Born August, 1996. Dark haired, dark eyed Columbian girl. Mutation: Electrokinesis. Social butterfly. Usually the first to organize all the parties and the first to know all the gossip.
  • Taylor Allen - Born June, 1997. Tall and muscular for his age, sports jet-black skin, a shaved head, and a wealth of regenerative tentacles of varying sizes. Also has a very low-level telepathy. Despite his alarming appearance and the strength of his extra limbs, is quite cheerful and friendly. Has also heard all your Japanese porn jokes so many times already.

Faculty & Staff

  • Charles Xavier - The telepath of telepaths. Also the Headmaster. Knows if you've been naughty or nice.
  • Hank McCoy - Furry. Blue. Erudite. Friendly. Teaches science, works in the medbay.
  • Savita Chavan - Cook. Often found around the kitchens. Will probably rap you with a spoon if you try sneaking around while meals are being prepared but also remembers everyone's favorite foods and keeps lots of tasty treats around. Is fully human; her daughter was a mutant who graduated Xavier's years back.
