Introduction xxxxxBoston born and raised, aside from the year and change he spent in mutant jail in Ohio, where he did not pick up Midwestern manners but did pick up “Ope.” Description xxxxxRoscoe is five-foot-four, skinny, and kind of twitchy. Probably has his hood up and earbuds in, looking deceptively like he doesn’t want attention. He has short, bristly black hair, olive skin, and dimples when he smiles. He's finally gotten his braces off; they did not do much for his prominent front teeth. Reputation xxxxxFresh out of… well, his family claims it was juvie, but the timing and the weird scarring is a liiiittle suspicious to anyone who watches the news. Roscoe is best known among ex-Lassiterians as that loudmouth kid on cell block E, and best known around his old neighborhood for juvenile crime and TikTok videos of middle school fistfights. He's trying to walk it back. History xxxxxRaised with very high standards and very little supervision, Roscoe Vo spent the first eleven years of his life figuring out how to overachieve without actually doing any of the requisite work. This worked well for everyone involved until Roscoe developed a mutation. Nobody took it well. He spent seventh and eighth grade in and out of trouble, first at school, then at home, then outside of home, then spent the summer and the first few months of high school in and out of juvie before eventually being transferred to Prometheus. When Prometheus went down twenty-one months later, he returned home, where things have been totally great and his family has not at all lapsed into old patterns. Powers xxxxxX-ray vision, just like Superman but without the super stuff. Skills xxxxxKarate through elementary and middle school, blue belt, sort of out of practice. Minecraft survival mode. Minecraft in general, actually. Chess club – he’s no chess genius, but he does know a ton of terminology. Audiovisual tech support, services, troubleshooting, etc. learned mostly on the job at school assemblies. Various parkour nonsense, self-taught and overenthusiastic. Reading upside-down and backward, reading really fast. Limited conversational Vietnamese. Jackson - Fucking Holland Trivia Prometheus Notes: Timeline: sentenced to 16 months in juvie starting in September 2021; transferred to a New England Prometheus lab in October 2021; transferred out to Lassiter in February 2022 after a national security incident (not his fault) (...okay, kind of his fault); broken out in July 2023 (#OccupyLassiter2023) Medical breakthroughs Roscoe has aided in: zero. Every so often someone new would stumble across his file and get really excited about the potential, whereupon they would go to Lassiter, run a bunch of tests, either come up empty or get their project nerfed by someone in the CIA, and slink away in disgrace. At least one of them did so like three times. LOL suck it!!! Military breakthroughs Roscoe has aided in: a few, but he's not totally clear how he helped or what he was helping with. He did not, alas, get a cut of the profits. Results: It turns out being constantly poked at and experimented on is not good for delicate structures like eyes. Though nothing appears to have damaged his vision (X-ray or otherwise), Roscoe's eyes are not very healthy. He's had various recurring eye infections for the past year, various complications arising from these infections, various medical interventions to deal with the complications, so on. If you look very closely at his eyes you can see a lot of odd discoloration, scarring, damage, etc. (He probably won't let you look very closely at his eyes; for some reason he's kinda twitchy about that.) Has stabbed three people with pens, which maybe isn't a lot, but it's a lot to have had a fairly negligible impact on his reputation. Has had a pretty inconsistent academic career. He was a very bright kid -- he skipped third grade and was on track to skip seventh grade too when his grades abruptly slipped. He almost had to repeat eighth grade, and then he went to jail instead of doing either ninth or tenth grade. Nobody is quite sure what grade he's supposed to be in now.
