Akihiro and Anette

2016-11-04

"Like the whole room turned into a garden."

Location

<BOM> The Nightfort - Ascension Island

A comfortable three-bedroom cabin, sturdily built if inelegant. The front door opens up into a cozy sitting room, sparsely furnished as yet. A futon, a coffeetable, a bookshelf (largely stacked with programming books). The sitting room is adjoined by an equally simple kitchenette with room for small table.

The three bedrooms here -- two off the sitting room, one on the other side of the kitchen -- are not uniform in size nor layout, with the considerably smaller kitchen-adjacent room having its own screened-in porch. The one bathroom off the living room has an extremely large claw-foot tub that takes up much of its space.

With Halloween on a Monday this year, parties have been all over the place calendar-wise. Which is why, though it's early November, Anette still appears to be in costume. Though it's late and, judging by the way she walks in less than straight lines, she's still drunk, she hasn't changed out of her costume. A black dress, pretty with sparkles and lace though torn and shredded along the edges, formed about her wings in such a way that suggests they are part of the costume. Her hair has been spray-painted black and pulled up in a messy updo, strands falling across her face and shoulders, and her make-up has taken a cue from mid-00's emo with heavy eyeliner drawn to look like tears faling down her face. As of right now, she appears to be raiding her own fridge, digging around all the shelves and drawers.

Akihiro sticks his face against the window, watching Anette raid the fridge. A few moments go by before he knocks at the door, leaning over to that window and raising his voice slightly, "I was gonna try and scare you, but I didn't realize you were gonna be wearing your old high school clothes."

Anette looks up as she hears the knock and grins at the sight of Akihiro, waving him inside. "I'm a fallen angel, see?" she says, giving her wings a little flutter. "I wish I had these clothes when I was in high school." Not finding whatever she was looking for, she settles for reaching in a cabinet and pulling out a glass and filling it with water from the sink. "What're you doing around here?" she asks, taking a sip of water and idly scratching at her eyes, careful not to disturb the make-up.

"I was going to see if you wanted to have some fun, but it looks like you beat me to it." Akihiro grins, stepping inside and closing the door lightly behind him. That grin falls some when he catches her scratching at her eyes, but he brushes it off. "Enjoy yourself?"

"Had a blast, bit too much. Tomorrow's going to be fucking hell," Anette says, grinning awfully bright for someone worried about tomorrow. "I can feel my insides turning to goo already, think the high's coming down." She takes another gulp of water. "Don't worry, no cocaine or anything heavy. Little bit of weed, some other things passed around. Ecstasy I think. Felt fucking great." As she talks, she begins rubbing at her eyes with the back of her hand like someone trying to rub the sleep from them after just waking up. "How're you?"

"What kind of high was it?" Akihiro asks, his mood suddenly fading. "And where was this party at?" That's a look she just may recognize. New and improved good Akihiro wants is working his way up towards a murderous rage.

"It felt...euphoric. Like everything was the best fucking thing in the world. About a hundred times better than weed. The little bit I remember anyway. Kept seeing flowers all over the place, too. Like the whole room turned into a garden," Anette says slowly, watching Akihiro closely, her body tensing as her eyes narrow. "What the hell is your problem? What does it matter where the party was at?"

Anette's eyes widen. "What? No...it was ecstasy. Or...acid. Or something," she tries to reason though the way her voice fades, there's a good chance she's not even able to convince herself. "Ok, so maybe I took heat. What the hell is your problem? It was amazing but I'll never touch it again."

Akihiro's fists clench, and he growls quietly. "You know what you took?" he manages through clenched teeth. "They gave you fucking heat. That's why it matters where the party was at. If you could describe who gave it to you, it'd make what I plan on doing a lot easier."

"Give it until tomorrow. Bet you'll be digging your eyes out looking for more. It got /me/ addicted to it. Think about that for a second." Akihiro reaches up to clamp the bridge of his nose, trying to calm down. "It's not your fault. But be careful, we just got clean. I'll probably go on another killing spree if they get you hooked to that shit."

Anette turns her head, staring out towards the wall as she lets AKihiro's words sink in. "Why do I even bother trying?" she grumbles, turning and making her way to the couch and plopping down rather gracelessly. "I can't win. I can't even stay clean. Hell, I didn't even know what this was and I took it." She leans back against the couch, laying her head flat against it. "What's wrong with me?"

"Nothing." Akihiro finally sighs, moving over to place his hands on Anette's shoulders. "You thought you were doing something harmless. I'm just pissed at whoever would hand that garbage out." He moves around to take a seat next to her, "Besides, if you quit trying you'd be stuck putting up with my ass all the time."

"I wouldn't go that far. I'm pretty sure I know a jaguar who would LOVE to rip into your jugular," Anette says, smiling faintly as she feels his hands on her shoulders. She does fall oddly quiet though, waiting until he's sitting beside her before she speaks again, her voice forced. "I bought more."

"Then give it to me to get rid of. How much did you spend? Not that it matters, I'll reimburse you." Akihiro politely ignores the jaguar comment. "I'm sorry I overreacted." he tacks on quietly.

"I'll get rid of it. As soon as I find it," Anette says quietly. At his apology, she chuckles softly and shakes her head. "Don't be. I wouldn't trust me either. I'll give you credit for not assuming I knew what I was taking." Her chemical happiness failing to hold back her growing depression, she leans over, resting her head on Akihiro's shoulder.

Akihiro wraps his arm around Anette's waist. "I trust you. I'll still cover what you spent on that garbage. Not like I need it to pay my rent in Beverly Hills." His own head leans back against the couch, gaze on the ceiling. "Wanna go do something soon? Can catch a movie or steal a car or something."

Anette smiles softly, though not very convincingly. "Don't worry about it. I've blown my money on worse things. And it's not like I have a New York penthouse." As Akihiro suggests other things, she gives a light shrug. "I would but I'm starting to feel like I might spend all night puking my brains out." "Well, then I guess that's what we'll do tonight." Akihiro shrugs slightly, giving Anette a light squeeze. "Can't leave with you being sick." he looks over to flash an actual smile.

Anette leans up and leans against the couch sideways turning to watch Akihiro. "I'll be fine. I've had hangovers before. Really, you don't need to stay." Not that she's trying hard to make him leave. "We should create chaos though. It's been too long."

"Well, then I'll go and let you get to feeling better. Then we can go and make some noise." Akihiro leans forward to press a kiss to Anette's forehead. "I'll be around, just shout if you need me and I'll come back."

"You're too damn nice," Anette grumbles, closing her eyes as he leans forward to kiss her forehead. "I'll let you know if I need you."

"Only to you." Akihiro pushes up off the couch and heads towards the door, stopping short of actually leaving just yet. "I'll come by in the morning, if you aren't too hungover I'll fix you breakfast." With that he heads back out, going off to wherever it is he sleeps.
