(Paige -> Anette): "I have questions." (Paige -> Anette): "You said you know people who fight for mutant rights. Can they help my friend?" (Paige -> Anette): "My friend Mai is in jail. She was the one who was arrested for murder. She was arraigned a few days ago and the police have been holding her since. I don't have the means to help her and my friends are saying that the public defenders are no good. She only sixteen and she's in way over her head. I can't do anything to help her. I can't pay for anything, but do these people you know know any lawyers that would at least consider looking into her case?" (Anette -> Paige): "I'm sorry" (Paige -> Anette): "You mean there's nothing you can do?" (Anette -> Paige): "There isn't" (Paige -> Anette): "Oh." (Paige -> Anette): "I'm sorry. I thought they might know someone who could help her out." A few days later, on the 23rd: (Paige -> Anette): "The group you told me about - you said something about making a difference and about mutant rights. What do they do?" (Paige -> Anette): "Is it the stuff we talked about with the foot soldiers? You said there might be other stuff?" (Anette -> Paige): "They do lots. Everything." (Paige -> Anette): "That doesn't really answer my questions..." (Anette -> Paige): "Meet u somewhere?" (Paige -> Anette): "Sure. I can be anywhere." | |
