Bastian just told me that Rasa went into town for coffee and didn't come back in time for curfew. This is very unlike Rasa. We activated hir phone tracker but there's no signal from it at all. I think until hearing anything else we need to consider this a serious emergency. I hope to God Rasa hasn't been stolen, too, but we're doing everything we can on that case and can continue to do so while trying to track Rasa down.

I think in the meanwhile we need to implement some strict measures against students leaving campus unaccompanied, AT ALL. I don't know what to do about students who NEED to leave for jobs or whatnot, but if kids are disappearing from SALEM this is getting out of control.

Given some of the people who've been taken, I'm not certain most of our regular staff is up to the task of looking after the students off-campus. Or themselves. It's unfeasible to restrict everyone to the grounds, though. Unfortunately.

Until we stop these people, though, I agree. None of the students leave campus without an escort. Preferably one with some real training.

I don't know how much any of you have been following the news lately, but there've been a lot of disappearances in the city again. Mutants, all of them, though the reports are sort of quiet about it. Getting plucked off the streets and killed. I'm sure you've seen Anole around since he got back -- we're almost certain that the people responsible are the ones who took him and hurt him.

As best we can tell, these people are kidnapping mutants, stealing their body parts in an effort to steal mutant powers for themselves. They're very serious, and they're very strong. They have successfully abducted and hurt some very strong and capable people right off the streets in daylight. Mutants who look obvious AND ones who don't, and they've come prepared with mutations that specifically counteract people's powers.

I urge you all to take this very seriously. These people are abducting, mutilating, dismembering, and killing us, and taking our powers while doing so. I'm not saying this to cause panic, I'm saying this because it's true, and ongoing, and until we figure it out and stop it I don't want it happening to anyone else. Unless you have an absolutely essential reason to be off-campus, you may want to strongly consider staying on-campus for a while.

Rasa Djalili disappeared last night right from Salem Center. We're doing everything we can to track hir down and get hir back. The students as of today are going to be restricted from leaving campus without an escort, but I'm not actually sure it's safe for any mutant right now.

Please, everyone, be safe.

subject: Assembly

The 9:45 assembly period today is mandatory for all -- students and faculty alike.

(( OOC Note: The schoolwide assembly would have been calm but very forthright about the fact that mutants are getting abducted from both the city and Salem Center, by people who also have superpowers and may in fact be stealing those superpowers. Rasa Djalili is also missing; all efforts are already underway to find hir. For the sake of safety, students are not to leave the school without an approved chaperone. Everyone, students and faculty alike, are /encouraged/ to stay on campus, chaperone or no. Until the issue is dealt with, students /will not/ be signed out to leave campus for /any reason at all/ unless they have an approved chaperone with them. ))
