xxxxx Brash and bold and loud, Ryan has been disappeared from the world once and doesn't plan to let it happen again. He wears his notoriety like armor, a cheerfully in-your-face shield that -- doesn't, really, let him flip off the government and yell about mutant rights with impunity. But no matter how many times they throw him in jail, now, at least, they're stopping shy of outright killing him. He'll take that as a win.

xxxxxRyan's life history changes blithely with the telling if it; he makes up stories both plausible and farfetched to anyone who asks much about his life. What is widely and publicly known is that he's the son of a Baptist preacher from Down South, he did a long stint as a guinea pig in the Prometheus labs some years back, and subsequently began leading a team of mutants together with Jackson Holland to free mutants still held in the then-secret labs.
That wasn't what initially brought him into the public eye, though. Outside of Clandestine Heroing, he spent his post-Prometheus years building up a solid music career. Starting in NYC and exploding out from there, he waited until he had already climbed his way to stardom -- a platinum debut album, national tour rapidly selling out all his stops, a growing reputation as a media darling for skating juuust on the right side of Bad Boy to still appeal to parents and youth alike, a load of Grammy nominations.
Only with his fame good and solidly established did he go and Gryffindor it all to hell -- coming out as a mutant and a Prometheus survivor, on stage the night of the Grammys, in his acceptance speech while winning the last of the four major awards, right at the height of the news storm when Prometheus's horrors were first coming to public light.
Things since then... haven't been the same. His record label dropped him with a swiftness, most major digital music platforms yanked his stuff, booking venues to play at became a lot tougher, lots of his fans deserted him. He got himself a new publicist and geared up for hella hard work rebuilding his base. He's been moderately successful at it in the years since then, by dint of tireless labor as an indie artist and a reeeally good PR manager making sure to keep him in the public eye.

- Despite frequent allegations, doesn't actually use his empathy to charm his audiences into enjoying his shows.
- Well known to be BFFs with his partner in crime Jackson Holland.
- There are many and frequent gossip page rumors about all the people he's probably sleeping with (generally assumed to be most anyone he'd seen hanging out with.) He generally neither confirms nor denies.

| Notorious - Ryan isn't just famous for a mutant, he's really famous. His music and media presence has been such that most people who follow pop culture at ALL will almost certainly recognize him, and even people who don't are likely to be familiar with some of his songs."

| Controversial - His "terrorist" exploits have brought him a lot of infamy, and though they've won him lots of friends in mutant community they have earned him hella hate and wariness, too -- even from other mutants who worry about him making the community look bad.
