Teague

I, myself, am strange and unusual.
Summary

Teague is an entirely cynical, sarcastic teenager. He rarely shows signs of self-consciousness, agitation, or excitement. Despite being perfectly content as a disaffected loner, he is willing to go out of his way to help other mutants.

History

A second generation mutant, Teague is the illegitimate son of an anti-mutant congressman from Ohio and a former dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Teague was raised alone by his anxious, extremely needy, mutant mother and made to rigorously follow in her footsteps as a dancer up until her recent suicide.

Teague was reluctantly moved to Washington D.C. to live with his father's family. As an outcast there, he was easily befriended by a Brotherhood plant going by the name of Elizabeth Montgomery. Having been working as his father's aid, she enlisted him into helping her gather intel on his father's dealings.

The situation grew unfavorable after Teague's half-brother, another fledgeling mutant of similar age, had a dramatic emotional upheaval and went berserk. His half-brother was subdued by police, but not before Teague outed himself as a mutant attempting to stop the other boy. Teague fled, and has been under the Brotherhood's wing ever since.

Powers

Teague is a mutant with the ability to draw in carbon from the air around him and instantly simulate the heating and pressurization process required to create permanent diamond constructs, as well as reverse the process and dissipate his own constructs or pre-existing diamonds. He is able to create an innumerable variety of colors, sizes, and shapes.

By their very nature, diamonds are extremely hardy against physical force. They are capable of withstanding immense pressure, are ideal conductors of heat, and are excellent insulators against electricity.

Brotherhood of Mutants - Since joining, he has taken his physical combat training very seriously. He mostly goes by his mutant name, Jewel.
Scandals - Teague's father is actively serving in Congress. The son of his secret mistress, the revelation of Teague's existence, his subsequent outing as a mutant and disappearance, were all in the news accompanied by a much younger photograph of the teen with short hair.
Ballet - Since coming to New York, Teague has regularly attended sessions at the School of American Ballet on the Upper West Side. Due to unforeseen complications created in-part by the recent zombie plague, many of New York Ballet's corps and soloist dancers were unable to fulfill their obligations. Teague has won a spot as a soloist through the school and well, good old fashioned bribery. (Who doesn't love handfuls of diamonds?)
